Artist’s Statement

Life is a crazy swirling storm of energy racing all around with sensory overload ever threatening to short out our brains. And the energy gets bumped up a notch with conflict and deadlines and busy schedules.

The point of my work is that in the midst of all the kaleidoscopic flashes of light and color, there is a peace that can be found. It occurs when I communicate a feeling, a thought, or a concept to you, and we meet there in the middle of all the craziness and our worlds touch. For a moment we have a calm and comforting place where two people can just relax. My work has a sense of composure and balance despite its bright colors and frenetic energy that can be felt when the piece is taken in as a whole.
